Face to Face Needs Analysis

Students spend 30 minutes with a member of the ProLang team discussing their previous language learning experiences, their current language needs and expectations and what ProLang will do for them.

Language Assessment

ProLang will work with students to assess their initial language competence in the chosen foreign language. Students are tested on their vocabulary range and their grammar knowledge as well as their fluency and accuracy in the language.

This stage will determine the choice of teacher best suited to the student’s needs and personality.

Course Start

The teacher will contact the student to agree the date and time of the first lesson. Students receive their own learning binder to help with note taking and when preparing and revising for their examinations. 

Language Learning Programme

First lessons and further discussions with students will allow tutors to tailor a successful bespoke training programme for an individual or a group and choose the corresponding teaching material.

Feedback

After thirty hours of language tutoring, students are asked to complete a feedback form, which allows them to comment about their experiences with ProLang. This helps the training team to identify any further specific tutoring requirements necessary to help achieve the original goal.

Course Completion

Linguistic skills are assessed at the end of each booking of 30 hours of tutoring.  A chart covering ten skill levels allows students to measure their language competencies and progress.

After 90 hours of lessons, students receive a comprehensive progress report detailing the content of the course and describing their ability in the following competency areas: interactive communication; fluency and pronunciation; and grammatical accuracy.

The individual report details suggestions for further study if necessary and concludes with individual comments.

Examinations

ProLang is a registered examination centre for the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examination Board.

Students taking English as a Foreign Language can be entered into the Cambridge First Certificate and Proficiency examinations.

ProLang offers flexibility to students seeking other examination qualifications.  We can also help prepare students for: French Institute; Instituto Cervantes; Goethe Institut and the Instituto Italiano di Cultura.
